You must be able to influence stakeholders to ensure risks are highlighted and appropriate resources assigned to manage them, develop and communicate new hedging processes to reduce risk to the business and you must have effective communication of the results of mathematical modelling and analysis to non-experts.
The role will be highly analytical and will require a strong understanding of financial instruments, finance theory, derivatives, retail pricing, transaction valuation, credit risk and preferably environmental products (ROCs, LECs, REGOs and Carbon (EU ETS)).
Alongside this you must have a numerate first degree (for example in Finance/Maths/Engineering/Economics) or equivalent experience, demonstrate strong economic, market and financial analytical skills and have an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to solving business problems. Candidates with a strong understanding of the associated risks surrounding trading platforms within Financial Services, Retail and Energy markets are desirable. Also if you have C++ experience this would be desirable.
