Travel upwards of 50% can be expected. Candidates must live or be willing to relocate to the Capetown / Stellenbosch area. The company does provide relocation benefits.

Our global leading client is an international developer and turnkey installer of photovoltaic systems, headquartered in Germany with offices in the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa. The main focus of the South African business is Project Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Operation and Maintenance as well as roof and greenfield scouting for future business opportunities.  

Job Description:

The Country Manager will develop and grow the South African photovoltaic business and will report directly to the board of the Group. The candidate will be responsible for the administration of all South African legal and financial issues, staff management, the business development strategy and sales forecasts, and other relevant marketing functions. The position is a ground breaking, entrepreneurial opportunity within a growing photovoltaic company.  

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be of high energy, flexible and self-motivated and will have an entrepreneurial spirit. He or she is an experienced manager and knows all the administrative issues necessary to lead a company in South Africa and also have some international experience. Experience with product introduction, business building and development, managing staff and budget control is required. The ideal candidate will be able to provide a proven, successful track record of strategic business development projects. Experience in the photovoltaic (solar) business is expected. Essential is the perfect knowledge of the English language.
