Job Title: Renewables Engineer

Location: Foyers Power Station

Salary: £36,500 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent Contract |Full Time Hours 37 hours per week

The Role

As Renewables Engineer, you’ll be responsible for a number of hydro-electric power stations within the Foyers and Great Glen region, working closely with remote and local operations teams to deliver a safe and reliable group of assets.

Some of your other accountabilities will include;

-Being risk aware and make risk-informed decisions.

-Leading the analysis of failures to establish root causes and identify and implement corrective actions

-Produce specifications for maintenance and repair activities

-Provide operational support to stakeholders; including fault-finding and fault diagnosis.

-Provide leadership in the delivery of our safe system of work, including making plant safe from system hazards, enabling maintenance, and setting others to work.

-Control hazards presented by high voltages and high-energy mechanical and hydrological-hydraulic systems.

The nature of our work means that you will find yourself responsible for mechanical, electrical and control / instrumentation technologies; although many of us have particular strengths in one or two of these fields.

Your Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone who qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline or have a higher education qualification coupled with proven relevant experience. Professional registration or ambition and ability to work towards registration would be an advantage.

Your background should centre around renewable power generation or equivalent heavy industrial or process industries. Hydro-electric experience would be advantageous as will a strong understanding of computerised maintenance management systems, reliability engineering methods and project management.

As you’ll be a part of a small and close-knit team of engineers, you’ll need to be a self-starter with the discipline to work on your own initiative.

Due to the location of our sites, travel will be required, therefor a full valid driving license will be essential.
