Job Title: Research Support Department: JLL Foodservice Consulting Location: Stockley Park, Near Heathrow Jones Lang LaSalle is a globally integrated real estate services and money management firm, operating across more than 100 markets around the globe. JLL Foodservice Consulting is the specialist Foodservice Consultancy within JLL. The JLL Foodservice Consulting Team advise on all aspects of foodservice in a range of sectors including Retail malls and Leisure venues. We provide commercial and operational performance analysis, benchmarking, standards monitoring and due diligence. Role Summary As a Research Support for JLL Foodservice you will be responsible for gathering information and supporting with our project work. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following elements. Onsite Research Using an app we have designed, you will gather data on competing foodservice units in a specific area. This will involve travel to the Project site and key competing areas where you will then use the app to fill in the data points including items such as name, location, size and category along with a report standard photograph. In addition to collecting the data, you will be expected to make concise and informative comments on the area such as: 'This area is a hotspot for affluent office workers and contains the largest concentration of fine-dining units.' Or 'The entrance to the food court is very cramped and narrow so the centre should work to improve visibility of the foodservice offer.' Whilst on site you may also be expected to liaise with a local JLL colleague or a representative of the Client. Restaurant Audits Part of the role will also involve auditing restaurants and foodservice units to measure aspects such as the cleanliness and organization, staff appearance, efficiency and attitude, and product quality & presentation. Report Writing and Proof-reading Once the research or audit has been completed, you will be expected to write up your findings in a report template. To complete this task to the standard we require, you will need to use initiative, think analytically and understand the requirements of the project. You will also read through your colleague's reports to check for sense, style, grammar and spelling. This is a key part of the role and one which will help you to develop the skills required to progress within JLL FC. Desk Based Research You will be expected to make contact with people both internally and externally via the phone and email, and using the internet to find information out that supports our wider work. To do this, you need to be confident and have a good telephone manner. Other Responsibilities The remaining time will be taken up with meetings where you will take accurate notes and minutes, as well as general administrative tasks. This is a very varied and expansive role for which many skills will be required and developed. As your experience and understanding of the foodservice industry and the role of JLL FC increases, we would expect progression to the role of Support Consultant to be viable within 12 months. You will also be expected to undertake regular travel within the UK and EMEA, so a passport will be required. Skills Strong organizational skills and time management ability.Excellent communication skills - internally and externally to the company.Good presentation skills and empathy.Numerate and good eye for detail - documents are in English.Able to multi task and work under pressure when required.Strong research skills, both desk based and on location.Confident and self-assured.Additional skills - an advantage but non-essential: European languages Experience Some retail and/ or foodservice operations background is desirable.Experience of writing concise informative reports/ documents would be useful.Both writing and conducting presentations would be useful.
