Risk Manager - Overview
The Centrica Renewables Energy (CREL) team is one of the largest UK operators of offshore wind generation assets. Key to maintaining CREL as a leader in this field is the ability to manage threats & opportunities to the achievement of organisational and business objectives in an effectual manner. We are now recruiting for a Risk Manager to be responsible for this and also for managing risks to customers, reputation, assets and interests of stakeholders. The Risk Manager will work in all work streams of the business and areas of specialism including corporate governance, regulatory and operational risk, business continuity, information and security risk, technology risk, external risk and construction risk.

The Management of Change is an essential governance tool used to inform management and stakeholders of the current status of construction projects and the business as a whole.

We are now recruiting for a Risk Manager to be responsible for this and also for managing risks to customers, reputation, assets and interests of stakeholders. The Risk Manager will work in all work streams of the business and areas of specialism including corporate governance, regulatory and operational risk, business continuity, information and security risk, technology risk, external risk and construction risk.

- Location: Windsor, Berkshire
- The Business Services team has been established as a flexible team without rigid boundaries where expertise can cross from one functional area to another to ensure optimal results. Initial focus will be on wind farms in the pre/construction phases.
Risk Manager - The Role
- Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management strategy and plan for all work streams within the business unit
- Ensure that suitably detailed processes are in place within the Business Management System
- Risk assessment which involves managing the process of analysing upside and downside risks
- Risk evaluation which involves comparing estimated risks with risk criteria established by the organisation such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors;
- Risk reporting in an appropriate way for different audiences.
- Corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders
- Monitoring and reviewing processes to ensure risk and compliance arrangements are in place
- Conducting audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors
- Providing support, education and training to staff, commonly at management level
- Ensure business continuity plans are in place
- Continually assess the management processes/procedures associated with, and the software utilized in, your everyday works with a view to recommending improvements to increase Centrica's knowledge and expertise.
Risk Manager - The Person
- A risk related qualification or relevant degree in numerate, commercial, business or engineering discipline
- Good previous experience in a similar Risk Management role in a relevant industry
- Previous experience on large scale construction and/or development projects in a relevant industry
- Previous experience on operating assets
- Previous experience of offshore operations
- Previous understanding of diverse engineering and construction issues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and good Word and PowerPoint skills
