Job Title: Rotating Plant Engineer – Hydro

Location: Glasgow/Perth/Knottingley

Salary: £36,900 – £56,500 depending on skills and experience + benefits + car/cash allowance + annual bonus

Permanent Full Time Hours

The Role

As Asset Engineer, you’ll be responsible for providing technical expertise in order to manage the medium to long term integrity of high risk operational assets and new build projects within their field of expertise, where failure would have a major impact on safety; environmental; and commercial operation of the business.

The role will include the development of relevant engineering and design standards and undertaking engineering reviews across the fleet to ensure assets comply with engineering legislation and standards; developing engineering designs for high risk new build assets; and provision of specialist engineering support and advice to asset operators and project teams.

Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will be required to be a Chartered Engineer (or working towards this) and a member of the Engineering Council. You’ll have strong technical mechanical expertise and experience within the field of Hydro Generation, with a solid understanding of plant operation and appropriate risk controls relating to the rotating plant discipline. Experience in asset integrity assessment and mitigation solutions will be necessary, along with a strong working knowledge of engineering legislation and industry best practice. You’ll also need good commercial awareness in order to understand the implications of engineering decisions and activities.

Outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills will be a must in order to build strong stakeholder relationships across varying levels of the business.
