Gazprom Marketing & Trading Ltd (GM&T) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gazprom and was formed in 1999 to establish a marketing and trading platform in the UK and Western Europe. Recently, GM&T has moved into new energy commodities such as power, oil derivatives, carbon trading and biomass.

The position of Senior Originator is responsible for sourcing biomass offtake in Russia and FSU countries, enhance business development and management of biomass operations in the given region.

Main Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate and develop biomass supply
Support logistics and transportation of biomass to the customer
Evaluate and mitigate technical and commercial risks;
Analyse biomass market and regulatory developments
Promote GM&Ts clean energy business
Build relationships and facilitate communication with a wide range of stakeholders
Manage portfolio project progress and information flow
Evaluate deals for commercial and/or investment and technical robustness
Negotiate contracts
Manage deal implementation
Ensure compliance with governance policies and procedures
Liaise with internal support functions to gain necessary approvals

Candidate Specification:

Educated to degree level (or equivalent)

Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of biomass market and its players
Strong knowledge and connections in biomass logistics/transportation
Results orientated, taking initiative whilst maintaining close attention to detail throughout
Excellent technical and analytical skills
Strong business acumen coupled with entrepreneurial flair and energy e.g. able to cope in dynamic environment with rapid business growth
Excellent negotiator, with ability to adapt negotiating style to achieve commercial aims
Tenacious and results orientated, takes initiative and drives for closure
Strong ability to work independently whilst retaining team focus
Strong ability to work in an international environment (both internally and externally)
Excellent financial, analytical, negotiation and presentation skills
Able to work in a pressurised environment and meet tight deadlines
Must be clear-thinking and decisive
Ability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships
Highly effective communication skills, articulate and able to converse at all levels
Fluent in English and Russian (spoken and written)

Able to demonstrate commercial experience in biomass procurement
Able to demonstrate experience in dealing with complex logistics/transportation
Experience in investment analysis and/or investment management
Ability to demonstrate a successful track record of delivery in a similar role
Experience of getting transactions approved in a similar type organisations
