Description

 The successful candidate will work with our client's existing team of flood modellers, hydrologists and consultants on exciting projects in the nuclear new build and generation, international mining and UK industrial sectors. In addition, the successful candidate will undertake hydrological assessments and flood risk and protection studies for a range of UK public and private sector clients.

You will work well as part of a team of over 30 water management staff, including opportunities to work across offices in the UK and to be involved with international projects. You will be supported by continued professional development training and be encouraged to build upon existing modelling skills

First Degree: BSc or equivalent in Engineering, Physical Geography or similar with focus on rivers and hydrology

Second Degree: MSc Engineering, Physical Geography or similar with focus on rivers and hydrology

Focus: Project Delivery

They are looking for someone with previous proven experience in consultancy/regulatory environment who has excellent hydrological skills and experience and expertise and project experience in the following flood and hydrological modelling software packages and methods:
o ISIS;
o TUFLOW;
o Linked ISIS/TUFLOW and multiple domains modelling;
o MapInfo/Vertical Mapper;
o FEH (statistical and ReFH);
o Competence with Mike21 would be advantageous;
o Competence with EurOtop would be advantageous;
o Knowledge of other hydrological modelling methods a bonus such as Wallingford Procedure, Modified Rational Method, HEC-HMS, SCS-CN method.

You will also need to have excellent spreadsheet/VBA skills, detailed knowledge of PPS25 and TAN15 and a good track record in contributing to the delivery of Flood Risk, assessments that include flood modelling approaches of varying complexity; good working knowledge of SUDS concepts and design; good level of literacy and numeracy and quality assurance standards and good interpersonal skills
