Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer – Offshore Structures
Salary: £42,500 – £63,500 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent Full Time Hours
As Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll be accountable as Technical Authority within the offshore structural wind discipline for providing technical leadership in order to manage the medium to long term integrity of high risk operational assets and new build projects, where failure would have a major impact on safety; environmental; and commercial operation of the business.
The role will include the approval and on-going management of relevant engineering and design standards and ensuring assets comply with engineering legislation and standards. You’ll also be accountable for the review and approval of engineering designs for high risk new build assets as well as providing specialist engineering support and advice to asset operators and project teams.
Your Skills & Experience
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer and member of the Engineering Council who has specialist technical knowledge and significant experience within structural engineering including the experience in the design and analysis of various forms of construction within Offshore Wind. Your background should include carrying out asset integrity risk assessments and providing mitigation solutions. You should have the ability to contribute to a cost-effective design with regards to Wind Turbine Tower and substructure design, fabrication and installation and provide technical support to early-phase offshore wind projects and operations on all aspects of offshore structures. Knowledge and experience of engineering legislation and industry good practice will also be necessary.
A large part of this role will require outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, which you’ll be capable of adapting to all management levels and situations, and specifically where there is a need to manage conflict in high pressure environments.
Excellent organisation skills will be essential, along with the ability to deliver quality work to the agreed timescales. An understanding of the commercial context and implications of engineering activities and decisions will also be required.
