Job title: Senior Environmental Consultant (ESIA)
Location: London
Salary: £37,000 - £45,000 DOE

Job Purpose Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic professional with experience of undertaking international EIA's within the energy sector.
With a good network and knowledge of the energy sector, the successful candidate will be responsible for jointly growing the management and delivery of EIA and due diligence work in the UK and overseas.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Main responsibilities will include;
- Leading EIA/ESHIA reviews and undertaking project management for large international EIA's or for the UK Energy sector (wind, wave, tidal, oil and gas and carbon capture storage).
- Project management (including programming and finance).
- Business Development
- Input to tender/bids/fees
- Supporting junior members of the team
Other Duties:
- Focus towards continuous personal development
- To effectively use the company Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
Qualifications / Experience:
Key requirements:
- Motivated and enthusiastic professional with relevant experience in EIA.
- An aspiration to assist in the management of rapidly growing national and international consultancy team.
- Ability to demonstrate a good network and knowledge of the energy sector.
- Ability and desire to travel both nationally and internationally.
Key competencies include:
- Strong writing skills
- Good analytical skills
- Technical expertise complementing the existing team
- Effective personal planning and organising
- Team player
Key qualifications and experience:
- BSc (essential) and MSc (desirable) in EIA or Environmental Economics with a focus on environmental sciences or geography.
- Experience and strong technical capability gained within a professional consultancy as a technical specialism in EIA.
- Proven experience in impact assessment including at least two of the following:

- International master planning;
- Social impact assessment or cost/benefit analysis;
- International environmental mitigation of projects;
- EIA lead for infranational investment (IFC, World Bank, ADB, etc); and
- International due diligence.
- Good knowledge of relevant UK and/or International requirements, i.e. IFC Performance Standards.
- Experience and understanding of Environmental Planning issues relevant to major energy development and infrastructure projects.
- Strong management, project management, time management and resourcing skills.
- A commercial and practical understanding of business and public inquiry experience.
- Understanding of environmental law, the EIA process, and relevant government policy, particularly relating to the onshore renewables sector
- IEMA membership or chartered status
- Financial management and administration experience
- Report-writing and presentational skills
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and also to work as part of a growing team
