An excellent opportunity has arisen with one of our clients, a key player and leading specialist in all areas of environmental science, from oil spill response, to remediation, to environmental monitoring and more.
This vacancy concentrates on the residential sector, where you will primarily be dealing with all kinds of spills that can occur in this sector, the majority of which will be petrochemical in nature (such as kerosene spills from a boiler), but anything is possible!
Your role will see you out on site, conducting the investigations, producing reports based on your findings, and establishing guidelines for construction teams who will then put the problems right, and create a liveable environment once more. You will also be talking to members of the public to explain their situation and the plan of action to make their homes liveable again, so being a people person is of great benefit, particularly if able to deal with occasional emotionally charged situations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a science based degree, and working experience of UK Contaminated Land regulations.
Degree level education in a scientific subject
Experience of UK contaminated land regulations in a working environment (as such this position is not really suitable for a new graduate, unless that is matched with a large amount of work placements that provide the experience needed)
Some experience in managing small scale projects
A people person
