Our client, a company developing engineering solutions based around water electrolysis has a new requirement for a Senior Pressure Systems Engineer.

Our client is committed to clean sustainable energy solutions based around water electrolysis.
Our principal motivation is to engineer zero-carbon hydrogen energy systems that provide energy security and independence from fossil fuels. Our electrolyser and fuel cell technologies have the potential to become the cornerstones of a future hydrogen economy based on 'green' hydrogen. Our hydrogen systems are able to convert renewable energy to a clean fuel that can be indefinitely stored for use in transport, residential and industrial applications.
This is a full time position. The position will involve providing Pressure System Mechanical Integrity support for prototype and bespoke process systems, and solutions to identified problems. Alongside this the successful candidate will Perform Fitness for Service Assessments in line with standards and approved codes of practice, recommend suitable repair methods, provide technical input for management systems, carry out survey/audits, and answer site queries. The successful candidate will also act as the company technical authority for pressure systems. It is desirable that the candidate has expertise in hazardous areas, LOPA, fire and gas detection, FMEA, reliability analysis and QRA.
Qualifications: Demonstrable; considerable professional experience with supporting professional qualifications. Preferably educated to degree level, a Chartered Engineer is preferred. The candidate should have excellent working knowledge of relevant pressure systems industry codes and standards, and knowledge of regulations in relation to pressure systems. The candidate should be aware of the latest technical developments, have an ability to direct and guide engineers and designers as well as review and approve designs, have good skills in team working and verbal and written communication.
To provide Pressure System Mechanical Integrity support to meet project requirements, performing all technical duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
Act as the Company Technical Authority for Pressure Systems.
Provide Pressure System Mechanical Integrity Support for prototype and bespoke process systems.
Provide Pressure System Integrity Solutions to identified problems.
Recommend Pressure System Mechanical Integrity improvements.
Perform Fitness for Service Assessments in line with standards and approved codes of practice.
Recommend suitable repair methods / options.
Provide technical input for management systems.
Carry out survey / audits and answer site queries.
Desirable to have expertise in:
Hazardous Areas (ability to prepare HA schedules and drawings is desirable)
Fire and gas detection & control
Quantitative Risk Assessment
Plan Personal workload.
Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Plan, co-ordinate and execute 3rd Party contractor work activities
Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
Compile Asset Integrity reports where applicable.
Always strive to achieve inherent safety when carrying out engineer and design activities.
Sound working knowledge of relevant pressure systems industry codes and standards (BS5500, ASME VII, TEMA, API 579, ASME B31.3, BS8010, API 6D)
Knowledge of regulations in relation to pressure systems (DCR, PFEER, PIR, PSSR, COMAH)
Aware of latest technical developments
Working knowledge of industry recognised Engineering / Analytical programmes
Ability to direct and guide engineers and designers
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Good team working skills
