My client has an urgent requirement for a Senior/Principal Contaminated Land Consultant for a multidisciplinary consultancy based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity with growth potential in the South West and nationally as member of a company within a much larger group.

Suitable candidates will demonstrate a proven track record in contaminated land and geo-environmental project management with skills suitable for development of the business to internal and external property development clients. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and leading and managing contaminated land investigations, remediation and validation works. They will be expected to develop good relationships with clients, to win new business for the company, and to take responsibility for project delivery including the discharge of conditions from various private and public sector clients.

Providing technical support for contaminated land issues, the successful applicant will take responsibility for the management and completion of soil and groundwater projects in line with national guidance, legislation and best practice including BS10175:2011. Typical duties will include design and completion of site investigations, preparation and review of factual and interpretive reports, generic and site specific risk assessment, remediation strategy development, Materials Management Plans and earthworks waste management, validation reporting, client liaison, budget control and team management.

Suitable candidates will have a proven track record of successful project completion, technical management of projects, and team development.

Candidates will have an excellent academic background preferred subjects include Geology, Geoscience or Environmental Science. Ideal candidates will have an MSc in a relevant field, will be a Chartered Geologist or have an equivalent alternative international accreditation (e.g. EurGeol). Geotechnical qualifications and experience would be would be preferred but not essential.
