The Earth Partners, LP (TEP) is a development company focusing on the large-scale restoration of degraded lands in order to produce significant environmental benefits. The restoration program combines bio-energy production with the development of water and water quality rights and carbon credits. TEP's long-standing relationships with NGOs, landowners, and governments are leveraged to influence the development of policy and markets to enhance the future value of these environmental assets, as well as the land that TEP manages or owns. TEPs Limited Partners include our joint venture technical partners: 1) Applied Ecological Services, Inc. (AES), one of the leading broad-based ecological consulting, contracting, and restoration firms in the world with expertise in wetland, grassland, savanna and forest sciences and management; and 2) Brinkman & Associates Reforestation Ltd, the largest reforestation company in North America, which has planted over one billion trees since 1970. Brinkman currently manages approximately two million hectares of forestland on behalf of indigenous communities, and is a leader in tropical plantation development and management in Central America, as well as forest carbon project development. TEP is now executing on a series of programs involving bio-energy production as part of its land restoration approach a product which TEP calls conservation biomass. TEP seeks to add to its conservation biomass team an experienced professional with natural resource management and/or bio-energy experience to be a Senior Program Director leading one or more of the conservation biomass programs in the TEP portfolio. This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the TEP management team. Roles and Responsibilities Overall project management of one or more TEP programs to ensure the on-time and to-budget delivery of a set of workplans with key stage gates TEP programs include: (1) the development of a large-scale conservation biomass portfolio in the Gulf Coast in partnership with one of the largest global energy players, (2) the roll out of a large-scale processing and logistics business for conservation biomass production in the Southwestern US, (3) the delivery of conservation biomass for heat and power production in the Midwest, and a research and development project for the utilization of conservation biomass as a preferred feedstock for cellulosic biofuel production in partnership with the largest ethanol company in the US Activities include project managing an interdisciplinary team of ecological engineers, agriculture and forestry specialists, soil and water scientists, bio-energy technicians, financial analysts, and policy specialists to complete the feasibility, design, and implementation of TEPs conservation biomass programs Skills and Qualifications --The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated project management experience, and has at least 2 years of relevant experience (e.g., bio-energy production/processing/logistics, agriculture, energy, and natural resource management) --Experience managing both the technical aspects of project development and the commercial aspects, including deal structuring, financing, and procurement options --Experience working with business professionals, engineers, and landowners --Aptitude for working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment --Other relevant backgrounds and experience will be considered Reporting.
