Senior Structural Engineer 

 Perm role based in Canada with leading global engineering company

 Essential Experience 

Structural engineering design experience

Experience with a wide range of structure types including buildings and industrial structures.

including supervision of engineers and technical staff.

Engineering Degree essential

Ideally Charted Engineer (or willing to become PE)

Any Experience with design of bridge structures, hydro-structures, marine structures or offshore structures an advantage.

  RoleManage single discipline structural design projects, or multi-discipline projects where structural discipline leads the work (e.g. bridges, towers, structure upgrades)

Review design calculations, drawings and specifications produced by the structural department.

Perform structural design and analysis

 Ensure that best structural engineering practice is followed in the department with respect to codes, analysis and design software and methodology.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients, project managers and other discipline leads regarding regarding the structural deliverables, schedule and interface issues

Report to management on structural department work load and issues with projects

Determine structural design approach, work schedule and assign and supervise work for a group of engineers/EITS and technicians.

Mentor junior staff and provide them with benefit of your design / analysis experience.
