Job Title: SHE Advisor
Location: Glasgow / Perth
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance
Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity to join the SSE Renewable Capital Projects team to support both onshore and offshore renewable developments projects at a time when there is significant focus on increasing our portfolio within the renewables sector.
As a key member of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Team you will provide proactive and pragmatic SHE advice and guidance to the Renewables Capital Projects business from initial project development phase through to construction and handover. Reporting to the Renewables Capital Projects SHE Manager, you will assist in the continual SHE improvement across the business, including management system development, delivery of coaching and training, risk assessment, audits, incident investigations and support the delivery of SSE’s Safety Family programme.
Your Skills and Experience
You will have experience in a SHE support role, ideally in the onshore/offshore renewable industry, and hold a Level 4 or higher safety qualification. A qualification in an environmental discipline (e.g. IEMA) would be an advantage as would an audit qualification such as OHSAS 18001 internal auditor, and incident root cause analysis training.
You should be a member of a relevant industry body (e.g. IOSH, APS) and GWO certification would be desirable.
Candidates with transferable skills from the Oil and Gas or other relevant industries may also be considered for the role.
You must have the drive, ability and enthusiasm to drive performance improvements and influence change across the business.
Excellent communication skills and a natural talent for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders will help you excel in this position. Experience in the application of CDM regulations to projects, and project management skills will be highly advantageous.
Due to the level of mobility required in this role a full UK driving license is essential. This role will involve some UK overnight travel and may include the opportunity to be site based if required.
