Shift Plant Operator (Power / Steam Raising / Environmental) 40k-41k & overtime, excellent pension, flexible benefits Leeds The Opportunity: We are currently recruiting a Shift Plant Operator (Power / Steam Raising / Environmental) to be based in Leeds. The Shift Plant Operator (Power / Steam Raising / Environmental) role represents an excellent opportunity to come in to a world leading organisation with state of the art equipment in a role where you will be assisting in the operations of the equipment and ultimately facility. TheShift Managers (Operations / Steam Raising / HV / Environmental)role is a shift pattern of 40 hours per week - shifts-2 days, 2 nights, 4 off. Anything over this is overtime. The Role: For the Shift Plant Operator (Power / Steam Raising / Environmental) you will be operating plant equipment such as boiler and turbine operation, with DSC control environment on a state of the art facility. You will have operators working underneath you on what is a 24 / 7 continuous operation and will be hands on yourself where needed. This is on the Operation side of the facility and you will come from Waste to Energy or potential the likes of coal fired power plant and have steam raising experience, permit to work knowledge, HV knowledge and awareness of environmental emissions and regulation. Operate equipment, including mobile plant and refuse cranes and including first line fault diagnosisEnsure compliance with the Environmental Permit and Environment Agency regulations / Health & Safetyideally with a good knowledge of boiler and turbine operation, preferably with DSC control environmentMaximise efficiency and throughput of the plant to optimise power generation Carry out routine inspections and adjustments/operations as requiredAssist the Shift Manager with the operation and monitoring of the facility from central and localised control centres The Person: For the Shift Plant Operator (Power / Steam Raising / Environmental) we are looking for a qualified engineer who has worked in the operations of a similar facility. Ideally, you will have engineering experience operating of steam turbines / pressure systems / process / power / waste / chemical / Naval background etc. You MUST have steam raising experience, permit to work knowledge and awareness of environmental emissions and regulation. Operator / Technician experience is required to be successful in this positionExperience in the power / energy industry from a waste, industrial or naval environment.
