Our client a leading Oil and Gas Operator based in Aberdeen are looking to recruit the services of a Snr Planning Engineer to join their onshore team for a contract opportunity, duration circa 12 months.

JOB PURPOSE:
The role of Senior Planning Engineer within the Projects group is to develop and manage Level 3 & Level 4 integrated plans for a range of capital projects within the Upstream portfolio.
A fundamental part of the role is to interface with key contractors, Upstream Regional teams, HSEQ teams, Commercial Teams, Operational Teams, Wells Teams and Third Party Hosts to develop level 4 plans that will be used in the risk and estimating process.

JOB CONTEXT/ENVIRONMENT:
The Senior Planning Engineer shall work within Primavera P6(V7.4) and must be an experienced user. Due to the geographic location of CEU regions and contractor offices and sites, the Senior Planning Engineer will be expected to travel within the European Union. The Senior Planning Engineer shall work within Primavera P6 and ensure correct coding structures are set

The Senior Planning Engineer shall have an in-depth knowledge of Upstream capital projects for both Greenfield new builds and Brownfield modifications. It is expected that the candidate shall have a firm understanding of the interfaces between drilling, completions, platform fabrication, platform installation, platform brownfield modifications, terminal modifications, pipelines, trees, controls, umbilicals, pipelay, tie-ins, commissioning and handovers. The Risk Process shall be integral to the planning process and as such the Senior Planning Engineer shall work closely with the Risk Engineer

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop a level 3 integrated master plan for inclusion in Project Approval documentation for all capital delivery projects
Work with the Risk Engineer to ensure schedule risks to the projects are identified and appropriately quantified.
Work with the Cost Engineer to ensure assumptions around cost forecasting and Variation Orders are aligned in plan.
Review and analyse supplier and contractor schedules prior to consolidating into level 4 project master plan.
Check contractor progress reports and highlight any changes to the baseline to the project manager, highlighting the critical path or any clashes within the interfaces.
Prepare monthly planning progress reports for each project manager in accordance with the CEU procedures.
Direct and chair planning meetings with contractors and internal departments involved in the planning process.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Qualified in Project Management, Engineering or similar
Strong communication skills ensuring that decisions and reasons are communicated to team members.
Experience within Oil and Gas operator with a good background in engineering and construction of capex Greenfield projects
Experience of Primavera P6
Experience of other project controls process including Cost Management and Risk Management
