Solar Industry Sales Manager (National)

Bristol or South East base

£35-42,000 plus bonus depending on experience

An expanding Solar Energy installation company with branches across the South of England and Wales is looking for an outstanding candidate to drive business development and manage sales growth across the company. The role reports to the Managing Director, and the successful candidates can be home based but you must live within commuting distance of either the Bristol or South East offices for meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on national level sales opportunities
  • Be an active member of the company board
  • Maintain relationships with key clients and deliver sales for the company
  • Lead development and training of staff to drive sales
  • Lead commercial, domestic and sales support workgroups
  • Manage head office sales and marketing staff
  • Provide leadership to commercial sales staff in the tendering process
  • Work with the Commercial Director to oversee all legal contractual agreements
  • Generate new sales leads across territory, through active marketing including identification of potential new business opportunities, and undertaking client visits
  • Develop company sales strategy
  • Identify and develop new initiatives and business sectors
  • Play a creative role in the development of products, services and literature offered by the company

  

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of the solar energy sector
  • Experience of sales in a construction, installation or service related business
  • Experience of building relationships with clients including Housing Associations, Local Authorities, architects, consultants, Commercial Property Landlords, building developers and contractors
  • Practical understanding of strategic market analysis and planning
  • A proven track record in winning significant competitive tenders and/or bids
  • People management skills
  • Excellent IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
  • Degree level qualification 2.2 or above (or equivalent)
  • Able to work a range of hours with occasional overnight stays
  • Enthusiasm for renewable energies
  • Legal right to work in UK
