Description

Our client a global consulting company is currently seeking an experienced Engineer or Physicist to develop simulation models for the estimation of the main meteorological parameters used in Photovoltaics and Concentrated Solar Power. Including: Global Horizontal Irradiation, Global Inclined Irradiation, Direct Normal Irradiation, Diffuse Irradiation, temperature, humidity and wind speed. The input data is used from satellite images and ground station data from pyranometers and pyrheliometers.
 
Key responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform forecasting services for solar irradiation. Responsible for the solar irradiation modelling for both Photovoltaics and Concentrated Solar Power energies
Development and validation of internal tools to estimate and forecast meteorological parameters for their use in Solar Power Plants
Leading the refining of the internal tools for offering external services on the solar irradiation modelling and irradiation forecasting
Attend events and scientific/technical conferences when required
 
Key skills and experience required
Proven experience in solar irradiation modelling, including:
Estimation and modelling of Solar Irradiation from Satellite images and other sources
Estimation and modelling of other meteorological parameters needed for the simulation of solar plants
Experience with the forecasting of the solar irradiation in the short term
Strong mathematical and numerical background
Full professional proficiency in writing and  speaking English and Spanish
Excellent communication skills
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Familiarity with the Solar technologies both CSP and PV
Familiarity with the market for solar irradiation services and products
Experience with the validation of the irradiation modelling techniques (scientific research and papers)
Good marketing skills
Good programming skills
