Structural Engineer LondonMain purpose of the JobTo assist the lead structural engineer in supporting the development, operations and commercial teams, in the delivery of large Offshore Wind projects providing civil/structural engineering expertise for all offshore infrastructure including turbine and substation foundations, topsides, meteorological masts and cable laying. The role will involve input at all stages of project delivery, including development, design fabrication, installation, commissioning and monitoring.The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many countries across Europe and the rest of the world. The position may require frequent travel to various locations in the UK and overseas.What does the job involve?Prepare technical specification and assist in providing technical direction for offshore geophysical and geotechnical investigations to obtain the required soil data for the design. Review the interpretation of metocean data and the definition of wave and current design parametres to be considered during design and construction of Offshore Wind farms. Assist in the identification and assessment of suitable civil/infastructure technology and optimisation of soloutions to achieve a safe and economical design of the wind farms. Manage FEED design studies for wind turbine foundations, covering monopiles, jackets and gravity bases, and offshore substation foundations and topsides to allow the tendering of the different construction packages.
