Travel upwards of 50% can be expected. Candidates must live or be willing to relocate to the Capetown / Stellenbosch area. The company does provide relocation benefits.

The main focus of the South African business is Project Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Operation and Maintenance as well as roof and greenfield scouting for future business opportunities.  

Job Description:

The Technical Project Manager (occupation 100%) will be responsible for engineering and realization of photovoltaic systems (PV Systems). The candidate will report directly to the Country Manager and represent the company with engineering consulting firms, architects firms, installers etc. The position will be responsible for the project budget and cost control as well as for the installation of the PV System. 

As Technical Project Manager your main activities will be: 

"           To provide the sales team with a technical support during the phase of definition of the PV Systems

"           Electrical and mechanical engineering of PV Systems

"           Definition of the layout of roofs and free fields concerning the PV Systems

"           Decision of components necessary for the installation

"           Calculation of the energy potential by using specialized software as PV*SOL, PVSYST

"           Inquiry and assignment of subcontractors (e. g. installers)

"           Management of the PV System installation (construction management)

"           Performance analysis of existing photovoltaic sites

"           Support after sale at the customer site 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications and skills: 

"           High level education as an engineer or technician (or equivalent) specialized in electricity

"           Confirmed professional experience (5 years minimum) in electrical engineering and project management

"           Excellent management and communication skills

"           Very good knowledge of the English language (speaking and writing)

"           Good knowledge of standard computer software (e. g. Microsoft Office Package)

"           Knowledge of specialized software like PV*SOL and PVSYST

"           Driver license and ability to travel

"           Team and customer orientation
