Turbine Engineer - Overview

Centrica Energy requires a Turbine Engineer to work at our Head Office in Windsor, Berkshire. The Turbine Engineer primary responsibility is to support the wind turbine package team in managing wind turbine suppliers through detailed design, production, transportation, installation, commissioning and testing of the wind turbine to ensure they meet contractual obligation and Centrica's requirements.

 Turbine Engineer - The Role

• Coordinate technical due diligence activities and expert consultants as required;
• Develop contract technical specifications;
• Evaluate suppliers' proposals in terms of scope of services offered and evidence of reliable technical compliance;
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain information required by in-house and external designers and independent verification bodies;
• Manage interface and technical query processes working with other parts of the project team (foundation, electrical system design, SCADA, cable, construction, operation and maintenance, consent, etc.)
• Perform visits to manufacturing facilities and construction sites for quality inspection, test and progress meetings
• Monitor works for safety performance, programme and quality of secured contracts through the manufacturing and construction phases
• Arrange, attend and write minutes for progress and co-ordination meetings with suppliers and interfacing parties.

 Turbine Engineer - The Person

• Technical/Educational: A degree in Engineering or similar discipline.
• Experience: Knowledge and experience with wind turbines and/or offshore oil & gas sector. Experience of working in project environment. Strong understanding of on & offshore engineering from a commercial & technical perspective.
• Relationship: Strong communication skills & ability to work as part of a team.
