Salary: £39,413 – £52,055 depending on skills and experience + excellent benefits + annual bonus
As Water Management Engineer you will be responsible for the planning and management of SSE’s water resources to maximise the effective storage and usage within the Hydro generation portfolio. From the long-term through to real time operations, including flood management, aligned with changing market conditions.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful at this role, we are looking for someone with experience in hydrology and hydraulic efficiency; coupled with good commercial awareness of relevant value streams both within the electricity market and the wider generation business.
You’ll have an appreciation of Hydro generator operation and reservoir safety as well as the associated safety and environmental legislation. Excellent written, interpersonal and analytical skills are essential to this role, as is a strong attention to detail and excellent coaching skills.
You’ll need the ability to balance revenue and risk, and have the maturity and authority to control, manage and respond to events, whilst thriving in a fast-paced environment. Your drive to become a positive contributor the renewables operation will help to ensure your success in this role.
