DECC are currently looking for a number of high-calibre Project Managers to join our organisation on an 18-24 month fixed-term contract, in order to manage the development and implementation of a number of our most critical projects.
You will be leading a team responsible for delivering a key cornerstone of the wider programme, managing the project and workstreams to ensure the delivery of the project within the specified timeframes, effectively identifying and managing risks and change throughout the course of the project. In this role you will also be responsible for engaging with key stakeholders, both internally across Whitehall, and externally across the energy sector, helping to influence and aid discussions to achieve objectives. You will need to effectively draw together conclusions from a wide variety of complex evidence and data, and use this to make informed decisions around the future of the project. As part of the wider leadership team, you will need to display an understanding of the wider vision of the reforms, and facilitate connections and discussions across the organisation.
We are looking for intelligent, ambitious candidates with the ability and experience to deliver complex and high profile reforms. Candidates must have a strong, demonstrable track record of developing and implementing high level and complex projects using project methodology, with a relevant qualification, such as PRINCE2, extremely desirable.
You will need to be highly numerate, with a strong working knowledge of MS Excel, and effective data analysis and manipulation. The role will require close and regular liaison with external stakeholders, so knowledge of how this project delivery will impact upon the commercial sector is essential.
In addition to offering an attractive salary package, plus civil service benefits, you will also gain an invaluable opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team at the forefront of delivering key public sector reform that will shape the future of the UK’s infrastructure and energy market.
