The Role: To provide technical consultancy services, working both independently and as part of the EDP Ecology Team. To assist with the development of Ecology as part of the multi-disciplinary services offered by EDP and to promote and manage multidisciplinary services. As the Shropshire team grows and develops, the successful candidate will be responsible for a team of Ecologists with line-management and mentoring responsibilities where appropriate. Responsibilities: - Spend at least 75% of time on project/changeable objectives - Win and manage complex (multidisciplinary) projects and inputs. Provide a single point of contact for clients on these projects and demonstrate exemplary client care. - Manage and assist other project managers and other member of the team as appropriate, to deliver multi-disciplinary projects - Ensure that all technical content from self and others is correct and sound - Liaise and/or direct internal/external project teams, attending meetings (both internally and externally) as required and appropriate - Working outside normal hours as necessary Person Specification: - Excellent report-writing skills - Business development skills - Proven project- and people-management abilities - Full IEEM membership - Relevant academic qualifications to postgraduate-level - Ideally, one or more specialisms in Ecology (e.g. tree-climbing surveys, arboriculture) - Protected species survey licenses (especially bat, great crested newt or dormouse).
