Cambridge, UK, February 6th, 2009: Following the huge success of the LinkedIn group of the same name, founder Sam Newell has launched a new job site entirely focused on supporting the growth of the global renewable energy sector.

Sam comments ‘There was an obvious appetite for a quality recruitment and job seeker resource that supported the renewable energy industry globally.

We are all working towards the same goal: the adoption of renewable energy as a viable solution to many of the world’s current energy and ecological challenges.

Today one of the key constraints in making renewable energy a reality is access to qualified and experienced resource.’.

Renewable Energy Jobs will support both agency and corporate recruiters by helping them reach sector professionals worldwide.

‘This is a global challenge and a global industry’ added Sam. ‘We have developed this site with that in mind. We launched this week without much fanfair to gauge users’ response to the site and so far it’s been extremely positive. Within the first 24 hours we had jobs posted in more than 15 countries’.

Currently Renewable Energy Jobs is offering free job posting and access to its CV database free of charge to all agency and corporate recruiters. All job seeker services are also free.

Sam says ‘This is an incredibly interesting time to be involved in a renewables resourcing project. There is a clear, worldwide, shortage of experienced industry professionals. In America, President Obama has announced the creation of large numbers of new ‘green collar’ jobs and in Europe and Asia we see far more jobs than there are qualified and experienced professionals. This is contrasted globally by rising unemployment levels and economic uncertainty.
